to live

A reconnaissance, mission, progress

First stage.

A place far from the school.
I'm strolling, I'm walking,
a story in my head, in my mind.

On the threshold, between two worlds,
inside, outside, abscence, presence, shadows, imbalance.

A place of life, which dominates the town,
a place rich in materials.
A strangestroll, precise memories, noises, sounds, voices, but no human presence visible.

Inside outside

Charlotte, Julia, Eleonore
A model, a theme: a threshold.
Reverse notions of inside, outside.
A game of scale, a game of point of view.
Open he door, lower the head, and bend down.
Snowy landscape, bluish light, it's cold.
Open the door, lower the head, bend down.
Enter the other world enter oustide.

A space multiplied to infinity, loss of markers, imbalance.
A time of immersion in an other place, in another time.
A magic moment which is put out when the door is closed.

This workshop was very difficult, a new way of working, new spaces.
I mustn't be affraid to exchange, to communicate, to speak.

daily objects in movements

VENTILOS

LIT_REEIL

Beds, chairs, tables, glasses, plates, televisions...

Four movements: linear, repetitive, instantaneous, ad jerkly.
The goal was to give life to these objects with different mechanical and electronic processes.
We wanted to give them a kind of autonomy, so these things became animated, poetic and surprising.

Linear movement

An action brings an other
The wake up call
To leave this moment of happiness, of sleep
Another world, regain consciensness of reality, the present, time.
The alarm rings, it sets off a sequence of actions.
We worked in a team of four on this workshop: Eleonore, Elodie, Julia and me.
It's was team work.
Eleonore worked i 3D, Julia discovered electronics, Elodie and I worked on the rest. We worked in wood to build our installation.
An action brings an other at any time the movement could be broken off by only one failed action. There is a constant risk at each passage, at each movement.

The numerical image, and the screenprinting image.
For this workshop I worked with Elodie.

Going back.
It was a question for us of going back to a place, the City Beisson.
A path, a route, the discovery of place, the quest, the story of our little stone found on the side of the road.

A stone's story

It's a new discovery of this place a discovery of this litlle stone's story.

A few months ago there were troubles in the suburbs. Going back to a place, to see and understand, to accept.

A stone's story

To inhabit a body, a thought, a point of view, an object...to inhabit this stone.

To give him meaning, a life, a story, in this suburb this litlle stone has to walk, has to progress.

We want give it sensitivity, emotions, and feeelings. This stone comes to life through the landscape, in this suburb.

My days in the local cafe in the CB, were spent exploring the place, and meeting people.
One place, men, and six girls.
At he beginning we worked alone, the goal was to melt into the place: to arrive, sit down and make peolple forget s.
Drawing this space, with movement, silence, noises, voices, exchanges...
Lines, shadows, hatching, taking in atmosphere.

1, 2, 8, 9 February

Team work.
We spent our days behind the photocopier, selecting drawings, putting them in order, adjusting them, photocopying them, then folding, stapling, numbering and wrapping them up.

This workshop was very interesting.
To begin with we were free to experiment, to take our time, to feel the atmosphere, to breathe, see, feel...

Then we came back to school and, began a new phase. We had to be more active, to work faster and in a  more rigorous manner.

To LIVE, the kitchen

A meeting with Fabrice Galisse.
He gave us a working method, he brought us energy and dynamism.
We began by writing words on post-its, then we stuck these papers on walls in different categories.
A few days later words emerged, and themes of a decale world appeared.

Kitchen.
A space, a place.
These old canteens are situate at 15 minutes to the school.
First we went to the canteen to soak up the atmosphere.
